That journey led me through a career as a communication specialist, many leadership roles, on to speaking engagements at national conferences and conventions and international symposiums, and into a doctoral program at Pepperdine University, where I research empathetic leadership and what it takes to build human systems that actually work.

I grew up in a rural and patriarchal environment where women’s voices were often the last ones heard. For years I navigated systems built to constrain rather than empower. Somewhere along the way, something shifted. I found my voice. My passion. And once I did, everything that was already inside me finally had somewhere to go.
